Join us for a night at the movies to focus on food waste!
We’re hosting a viewing of Wasted! The Story of Food Waste, drive-in movie style.
For the second year in a row, we’re reinventing our annual fundraiser. In partnership with Summer of the Arts and Indian Creek Nature Center, we bring you a drive-in screening of the documentary Wasted! The Story of Food Waste. This event is presented by MidWestOne Bank.
About the movie
This informative and entertaining documentary takes you around the world, showing the 1.3 billion tons of food that get thrown out each year and the people fighting hardest to prevent it. Your support helps us raise funds to continue this fight in our own community.
What’s included with your ticket
Your ticket allows you one vehicle at the drive-in movie. Along with your ticket, during the week of June 2-9 via social media and email, we’ll share about our work locally and how you can be a food waste fighter in your own home.
If you would prefer to join from home and still show your support, you can choose the “make a donation” option on our ticket page and rent the movie to watch at your leisure. We will include you in our email content for the week so you can join us on our food waste education journey! The movie is available to rent from multiple services, including Youtube, Google Play, and Amazon Prime.
What you’re supporting
You will be supporting our local food rescue operations, which recover 2.4 million pounds of wholesome, edible food each year and feed thousands of our neighbors in Johnson County struggling with food insecurity.
When is the drive-in?
Friday, June 4, 2021
